11 candidates to replace Dominique Anglade
The application period ended today
It is not the contenders for the succession of Dominique Anglade to the deputation of Saint-Henri-Sainte-Anne who are missing. They are, in total, 11 to officially register for the by-election which will take place on March 13, according to Elections Quebec. The end of the period for submitting a declaration of candidacy sounded this Saturday at 2 p.m.
Note that there are three candidates more than in the general elections of 2022. This shows how much this position is coveted following the departure of Ms. Anglade who said, in an interview with < em>Métro, “have no plan” to return to the political arena.
Note that the four parties with deputies in the National Assembly will be entitled to a photo of their candidates on the ballots. The others, including the Conservative Party of Quebec, the Green Party and Climat-Québec, will try to surprise even without an image of their foal. An independent candidate is also in the running.
The former Liberal leader won the riding in September 2022 by 36.2% of the vote and then beat Quebec solidaire candidate Guillaume Cliche-Rivard, who present again, by 2736 votes. There are 57,325 voters in this riding, which has always elected a Liberal MP since its creation in 1994.
