A major fire destroys a building in the Village
A major fire broke out Thursday evening at the corner of rue Lafayette and rue Saint-Christophe.
The fire was reportedly declared around 10:45 p.m. in a building in the Gay Village of Montreal. Witnesses said on social media that they saw a large plume of smoke.

Firefighters have issued a fifth alarm to deploy sufficient resources. Several people were evacuated from nearby buildings.
The Montreal Fire Department declared on social networks that it had mastered the intervention Friday morning around 8 a.m.
