Because of the work that stretch in the coopérative Méduse, Month, Multi 2020 almost didn’t take place. The team of commissioners and the new executive director of double-Sided have, however, announced Tuesday that the festival of multidisciplinary arts and electronic would be held in the format of “digest” from 5 to 9 February.

The team double-Sided, which produces the mois multi, wanted to take advantage of year of turmoil to think about the future. In an interview to the Sun last August, the director-general Gaëtan Gosselin was the loss of income from room rental Multi to $ 60,000. A shortfall which forced the agency to dip into its slight surplus for the Month Multi. Mr. Gosselin spoke then Has a Plan (an edition shortened) and a Plan B (a report in the fall of 2021) for the festival. This is the plan that has been adopted.

“The passion of some of the artists did not leave us the choice. We should do a festival 2020! In the circumstances, the present edition is a focused, but no less outstanding,” points out Mélanie Bédard, who took the general management of Recto-Verso with the retirement of Mr. Gosselin.

The ten projects (performance, laboratories and happenings) that will be presented at the 21st version of the MM has been chosen by Emile Beauchemin and his acolytes Jeanne Couture, Laurence P. Lafaille and Michel Plamondon. They will be presented to the Coopérative Méduse in spite of the ongoing renovation. The theme revolves around the “everything that is and everything that comes after”.

The words “young, flippant, punk, and contemporary” are used by double-Sided to call this edition a “pirate”, whose programming will be revealed on January 8, during a 5 to 7 in the Maelstrom of Saint-Roch. Info : moismulti.org
