The Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH) acquires a pediatric simulation center which will offer interprofessional training to the establishment’s teams using mannequins of different sizes and ages.

Trauma, surgical care, medical care, resuscitation exercises and codes – for cardiorespiratory arrests, eg – as well as disaster preparedness are part of the range of what can be simulated thanks to the new center.

A multidisciplinary team will lead and design the educational sessions.

In addition to aiming to provide better patient care, the Pediatric Simulation Center aims to increase the “culture of simulation as a mode of training in the pediatric environment and to generate topics of research”.

The objective being to promote the development of new skills, the sessions will be followed by reports. They may also be filmed, recorded and broadcast, either live or delayed.
