A spacious (and rare) unit of Habitat 67 is for sale
Habitat 67 has no less than 158 apartments.
Emblematic, historic, iconic… with its large concrete cubes facing the Old Port of Montreal, Habitat 67 inspires dreams, or at least piques curiosity. Ever wondered what it looked like in there and if you could live there? That's good, one of the 158 apartments in the building is for sale!
And it doesn’t happen so often that one of the owners who lives there decides to sell his precious home. The condo we are talking about, which has been completely renovated, is also “one of only two three-cube units on the top floor for sale in the last 20 years”, can we read in the ad.
So what do we find in these three cubes located at the top of the building? Well, there is obviously a beautiful modern kitchen with a pantry, a bright dining room lined with floor-to-ceiling windows, a large living room, two bathrooms and three bedrooms.

But perhaps the centerpiece of this 2072 square foot unit is its large glass roof offering stunning views of the river and leading to a lovely private terrace. In all the rooms, the renovations have been made in respect of the original style of the place; so you have to like concrete and clean shapes!
The apartment is also sold with two indoor parking spaces and gives access to a shuttle service that leads directly to the city center.
Built for Expo 67, Habitat 67 is the work of architect Moshe Safdie, to whom we also owe the National Gallery of Canada, the Musée de la civilization de Québec and the Desmarais pavilion of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. It is part of an architectural style called brutalism, which has the principle of putting forward raw materials, such as concrete, and strong geometric shapes.
Asking price: $1,688,000
