Mélanie Noël La Tribune Sherbrooke – Trees, a new development studio for children, future and new mothers, will open its doors this fall. The opening is scheduled between November 15 and December 1 at the ProGym Sports Complex.
Work is underway at 4796 boulevard Bourque. The building where the ProGym and the Sherbrooke Factory are already located will be extended by 2,500 square feet to accommodate the new studio for children from six months to 12 years old and their mothers.
“We want to help the development of children and support mothers and families before and after childbirth. We will work from motor development for the youngest to work on the structure, ninja warrior style, for the oldest ”, explains the owner of ProGym, Raphaël Jolicoeur, who is piloting the project with the owners of the Usine Sherbrooke, Simon Paquette and Maxime Lequin-Doré.
“This project is complementary to what the gym and the factory already offer. It's a project that thrills us and we can feel the enthusiasm. A few days ago, we announced on social networks the upcoming opening of the studio and already, it's madness, ”adds Mr. Jolicoeur.
Studio Trees acquired the equipment from Gymini, which closed its doors during the pandemic. “We took back the equipment and we will improve the courses and the activities”, summarizes the instigator.
The choice of name is explained on social networks. “Trees means trees in French. Just like trees, the center is a place to grow, flourish, and feed off the support of others, as a tree in a forest grows faster than alone in a field. This is what we want to recreate in this studio. A place where each individual can grow and flourish with the support and energy of all other members. “
