A teenager stabbed on the Plateau-Mont-Royal
A 16-year-old young man was stabbed overnight from Sunday to Monday on the Plateau-Mont-Royal in Montreal.
The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) reports that a call to emergency services was made shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday evening to report that a man was injured at the corner of Gilford and Messier streets.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a 16-year-old man who had been stabbed in the upper body following an altercation that allegedly took place a little further away.
The victim was transported to an emergency hospital and there are no fears for his life.
No arrests have been made at this time. An investigation has been opened and the investigators must meet the victim during the day.
Investigators have not been able to determine the precise location where the event took place despite the deployment of the canine squad. They are also going door to door to try to find witnesses and will analyze surveillance cameras.
