Abortion: “No compromise”, says Anglade
The leader of the Liberal Party, Dominique Anglade
Following the leak of a document published by the newspaper Politico revealing that the right to abortion is in danger in the United States, the leader of the Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ) asked the parties to exclude any candidate who spoke out against abortion.

Québec solidaire immediately reacted by sharing an article signed by Manon Massé, published on March 8 in le Journal de Québec, which recalled that the Conservative Party of Quebec is presenting an anti-abortion doctor in the next election.
Ce n'est pas juste aux États-Unis où les groupes religieux et conservateurs menacent les droits femmes.

The spokesperson for Québec solidaire says she is “happy” to hear that Dominique Anglade has “supported today” this request, which was already raised on Women's Day on March 8.
< p>In the same vein, the Mayor of Montreal tweeted in support of “all American women who demand that their right to dispose of their bodies be respected”.
Je joins ma voix à celle de toutes les Américaines qui exigent que leur droit de disposer de leur corps soit respecté.

“Limiting women's rights is unacceptable. Let's not tolerate any backsliding,” she tweeted.
Other Quebec political figures have reacted, notably the leader of the Conservative Party, Éric Duhaime, who calls himself “pro-choice”.
Ce matin, François Legault, Dominique Anglade et Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois, ont réclamé que nous empêchions une personne qui aurait des convictions pro-vie d’être candidate.

“Their cancel culture(cancel culture) now leads them to claim that only people who think like them can apply. In fact, their demand of the day is anti-democratic and hypocritical. It smacks of panic in the face of the conservative rise”, can we read in another of his tweets on his personal Twitter account.
Complete judgment of Roe v. Wade?
The leak of a document from the highest court in the United States by the newspaper Politico suggests that the Supreme Court may soon overturn Roe v. Wade, who has been protecting the right to abortion in this country for 50 years. According to the document, a majority of justices sitting on the Supreme Court would vote in favor of overturning the “Roe vs. Wade” decision.
Even though the Supreme Court has upheld the authenticity of the document that made the subject of the leak, she asserts “that it’s not a decision of the Court or a final position of one of its members”.
The Roe judgment vs. Wade, returned in 1973, had guaranteed the right of women everywhere in the United States to have an abortion.
