Alain Platel to return to the Crossroads theatre
After four visits noticed the Carrefour international de théâtre, the stage director, belgian Alain Platel will be back at the festival in 2020, with the show “Requiem for L.”, tribute hybrid to the unfinished work of Mozart carried by the company Les ballets C de la B.
The show will be presented only once on June 2 at the salle Louis-Fréchette of the Grand Théâtre. The tickets will be on sale next April.
Requiem for L. brings us into the universe of a character in agony, where death is imminent, becomes conducive to a celebration of life. The composer Fabrizio Cassol revisits the Requiem of Mozart with an international cast of 14 musicians and singers, gathered together by Platel.
It will be the fifth with Alain Platel at the Crossroads, after lets op Bach in 1999, German Indian in 2001, Gardenia in 2011 and Tauberbach in 2015.
Presented in collaboration with the Festival TransAmériques, Requiem for L. , which will be located in Montreal, at Théâtre Maisonneuve of Place des Arts, from may 26 to 28.
The 21st international Crossroads of theatre will be held between may 19 and June 6, 2020. The complete program will be unveiled in April.
