Attempted murder in Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve
Shots were heard around 10:30 p.m. on Lapointe Boulevard, near Grosbois Avenue, in Mercier.
Two people are still in hospital after an attempted murder with a firearm that took place late Monday night in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve sector.
The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) received a call at 10:30 p.m. regarding shots fired on Lapointe Boulevard, near Grosbois Avenue. Once there, they found two people injured by projectiles.
The victims, an 18-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, are out of danger. They will have to be met by the police in the next few hours to learn more about the circumstances of the incident. A police investigation is underway to try to find the suspect.
Other shots in Villeray
< p>Another firearm incident also occurred last night, this time in Villeray. Shots were fired around 3:50 a.m. this morning at a massage parlor located on rue De Lorimier, between rue Jarry and rue Tillemont. The SPVM found several casings on the ground and a good number of projectile impacts on the facade of the business. No casualties have been reported and no suspects have been found.
The SPVM advises the population that it has erected a security perimeter in the area and that traffic is not possible on rue De Lorimier between Tillemont and Jarry. Motorists are advised to take nearby streets to move towards the highway or south.
