Black History Month: African music in all its forms!
Afro-Brazilian singer Fabiana Cozza
African music will be in the spotlight in February as six concert-events will be presented in Montreal to celebrate Black History Month .
Starting February 3, the series “African Music in all its states”, a presentation of Productions Nuits d'Afrique in partnership with TD Bank Group, will take off.
For these unique evenings, where several musical horizons will meet, the celebrations will be with the Afro-Brazilian of Fabiana Cozza (Brazil) accompanied by the talented Zal Sissokho (Senegal-QC), to move on to the African blues of Djely Tapa (Mali-QC) which echoes the American blues of Dawn Tyler Watson (UK-Qc).
We will also find the Afropop of Cheikh Ibra Fam (Senegal), which will be accompanied in the first part by the voice Seydina (Senegal-QC), to then move on to the traditional Rara of Jonas Attis (Haiti-Qc), until the Soulkreôl of Senaya (Guadeloupe-Senegal-QC), and to conclude this musical series with Mandinka and Afrodub in the company of WorldWild SoundSystem and its guests.
Here are the dates of each evening, and the link for tickets is linked to each of the locations.
