Books (and vinyl!) for $1 or $3 at the Grande Bibliothèque

Books for as little as a dollar and $3 vinyl records are on sale all week at the Grande Bibliothèque during the Friends of the BAnQ Book Market, which runs until Sunday.

Among the selection of 40,000 documents that will be on sale at the BAnQ, we find novels, audio books, books for children and teenagers, biographies, “beautiful books and large-format books”, and works on varied topics, such as travel and food.

But for the most music-loving, the market also sells CDs, musical boxes and, for the first time this year, vinyl records (LPs) Quebec!

Prices vary between $1 and $5 for most documents, except for “beautiful books”, which are sold between $3 and $20. The profits made will be used to support the various activities offered by the Friends of BAnQ throughout the year, such as French conversation and writing workshops.

The Friends of BAnQ Book Market began on Wednesday August 24 and continues until Sunday August 28, but the selection offered during the sale is renewed every hour, every day. So there will be pearls to be found until the last day.

Although the majority of the books are in French and English, there will also be titles in Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Chinese, German, Vietnamese and Russian.

For the Friends of the BAnQ Book Market sale, card payments (debit and credit) are accepted in addition to cash. We also recommend bringing your own bags.

Market time:
Wednesday August 24, Thursday August 25 and Friday August 26 from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Saturday August 27 and Sunday August 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

At Level M of the Grande Bibliothèque. Access by the staircase located near the Auditorium.
