Cayenne pepper causes major interruptions in the metro
Place-Saint-Henri metro station, on the orange line.
The presence of cayenne pepper at the Place-d’Armes metro station is causing service delays on the orange, green and yellow lines on Tuesday morning in Montreal. Some stations, including Laurier station, were evacuated.
An intervention by the emergency services also caused a service interruption between Snowdon and Beaubien stations. One person was injured or ill at the Crémazie station.
“All of the incidents are now over and service is gradually resuming, although it may remain slow as we are at rush hour”, explains the communications manager of the Société de transport de Montreal (STM) Philippe Déry.
