Tommy Brochu La Tribune $ 75,000 was given to nine businesses by the Corporation de développement de l'Entrepreneuriat Collectif de Sherbrooke (CDEC) via two investment funds with the objective of supporting social economy businesses experiencing the changes caused by the pandemic.

The money granted by the City of Sherbrooke was divided into two funds: the Fund for access to professional resources and the Fund to support social economy enterprises. In all, 11 projects were funded

According to the organization's press release, several projects focused on e-commerce, the digital shift, the management of human resources in teleworking and the overhaul of service offers.

“It's the culmination of several hours of work, but we understand how much it is worth when we announce the good news to businesses,” says the social economy development officer, Claudine Samson. It will be even more rewarding when we see the various projects take shape in the coming weeks all over Sherbrooke. “

Companies had until October 7 to submit their project. For the financial analyst of the CDEC de Sherbrooke, Jessy Cazzaro, it was important that the process be simple. “Often, in order to access funds like this, companies must submit several documents: business plan, financial forecasts, market studies, etc. In the current context, we have therefore worked to simplify the process, while ensuring with businesses that the projects submitted are of high quality and in line with the eligibility criteria. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the projects submitted despite the relaxation of the process, ”he said in the press release.

The portraits of funded companies and their projects will be featured on the CDEC's Facebook page this month.
