The Gilles-Villeneuve circuit is open, but will be closed for two months this summer

The Gilles-Villeneuve circuit is once again accessible to cyclists.

The Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve (CGV) bike path, in addition to the bike path link between Parc Jean-Drapeau and the South Shore, are once again accessible to the public for the 2023 season. Athletes and motorists are advised however, resurfacing work is planned for this summer on the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit. It will therefore be closed for several weeks this year, in particular for the whole of August and October.

These works on the roadway of the CGV are carried out to correct the ergonomics of the circuit in order to respect the standards of the International Automobile Federation (FIA). Both phases will occur from July 10 to September 1 and from September 25 to November 24. Note that the circuit will also be closed to users from May 29 to June 24 due to the Montreal Formula 1 Grand Prix.

The Société du parc Jean-Drapeau (SPJD) specifies that the Rive-Sud cycling link will remain open for the duration of the work. It invites users of the CGV and the track to consult the updates on its website to avoid unpleasant surprises and inconveniences.

Parc Jean-Drapeau also had its share of surprises this week . A new family of seven foxes, including six cubs, made the park their home this week.
