Club Med Charlevoix offers breathtaking views of the St. Lawrence River from almost the entire hotel.
The very first Club Med of Canada officially opens its doors here in Quebec, this Friday, after ten years of work. Metro took a walk before the official opening and answered the famous question: so … is it worth it?
Club Meds have the reputation of being “a tick above” other all-inclusive destinations. The one in Charlevoix is no exception. Here, no paradisiacal beach or G.O. at the pool that invite you to clap your hands on a Latin tune, but it is the only luxury resort to offer an all-inclusive formula at the foot of a ski resort, lift pass included. & nbsp;
And it's not just any mountain that stands in the back yard of the hotel. This is the Massif. Yes, the one who, at the top, gives us the impression of throwing ourselves into the river. One of the most beautiful in Quebec. & Nbsp;

Are you not too agile on your skis or your board? Club Med offers lessons and guided descents, also included in the packages. Equipment rental is at your expense, however. You can then store everything in a locker associated with your room which is released with the customer bracelet (the same one that unlocks the rooms). Practical!
To reach the slopes ( of all levels), just get on the gondola a few meters from the lockers.
To vary the pleasures, you can also go hiking in the mountains, ice skating, mountain biking in summer or take the Charlevoix train tracks along the St. Lawrence to visit Baie-Saint-Paul.

But once you put down our poles and break free from our boots, this is where the real Club Med experience begins. You can go and relax in the sublime indoor swimming pool, in the sauna or the outdoor Jacuzzi while watching the skiers come back from the mountain or while contemplating the majestic river which stretches out before your eyes. & Nbsp;
Yoga, meditation, massages & nbsp; ($), facials & nbsp; ($) & nbsp; are also offered.

Then comes the time to eat. & Nbsp; The customers & nbsp; have access to a certain number of meals at the à la carte restaurant, & nbsp; Le Chalet, & nbsp; where we can feast on a menu & nbsp; “à la bonne & nbsp;” franquette ”& nbsp; developed by chefs & nbsp; Robert & nbsp; Piccininni & nbsp; and & nbsp; Mathieu Masson-Duceppe & nbsp; delicious & nbsp; Jellyfish & nbsp; Montreal. More traditional dishes (organic charlevoix meats, braised chicken and carrots, sugar pie) mingle with inspirations from overseas (Asian salmon tartare, salmon in cream sauce). It's & nbsp; plentiful! & Nbsp;
The restaurant Terroir & amp; Co offers fondues or raclettes served with local cheeses and cold meats. & Nbsp;
As for the buffet, it's also not bad at all. In addition to the classic pastas, pizzas and salads, we are treated to lobster tails, tartare (even for lunch), inviting cuts of meat, oysters and gelato for dessert. The morning pastries are surprising for an all-inclusive. & Nbsp;
Check the opening hours, since when they close their doors it is difficult to find a snack. & nbsp;
In the evening, we take off our tricks to enjoy a show in the large theater that borders the hotel restaurants. Musicians of all kinds take turns every evening. During our visit, a surprising electronic harpist brightened up the 5-7.Then comes the time to retire to our quarters. The regular rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is enough storage to store our winter gear. The toilet is separate from the shower, which allows us to avoid bad smells from our co-sleeping rooms. Small snags, there is no coffee machine or bathrobe to enjoy the sunrise over the river from our little balcony.
