CMM: golf courses dedicated to renaturalization and not construction

The Metropolitan Community of Montreal (CMM) intervenes to protect six golf courses, i.e. 284 hectares, against any construction and thus promote the renaturalization of these green spaces.

The Golf Métropolitain d’Anjou is not included in the list of land in question. However, other sectors of interest, including golf courses, could be added to the RCI later in a second phase, the CMM said in a press release issued Thursday.

The integration of the six golf courses will come into effect after the approval of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing. There are the Beloeil, Candiac, Mascouche and Le Boisé golf clubs, as well as the municipal golf course in Chambly and the former Rosemère golf course.

More details to come.
