CNN names Montreal among summer tourist destinations
Montreal, a tourist destination of choice.
A city of festivals and bagels, that’s how CNN describes Montreal when suggesting it as a top tourist destination. Alongside countries like Australia, Greece or Panama and cities like New York or Singapore, the metropolis is therefore in the top 11 of the best places to visit in the American media.
The Go Bike Festival, which is best known for the Tour de l’Île; the Festival St-Ambroise Fringe, which spans three weeks; the MURAL festival, which welcomes artists from all over the world; the International des Feux Loto-Québec, which showcases the work of pyrotechnicians from six different countries; the International Jazz Festival, which again offers a whole program; Montréal completely circus, which will be back in July; Montreal Pride shows; and the Fashion & Design, which will be held at the end of August, are named by CNN among the good reasons to visit the city during the summer season.
And it's not Mount Royal, the Old Port or the Olympic Stadium that are Montreal’s main tourist attractions, according to CNN. It's more like the bagels… but no quibble, since both St-Viateur Bagel and Fairmount Bagel are mentioned. We narrowly avoided a diplomatic crisis!
Montréal is gradually preparing to become the tourist destination it was before the pandemic. According to Tourisme Montréal, 11 million people from outside Quebec visited the metropolis in 2019, while projections for this year are 7 to 8 million tourists.
