Code White: Evacuation at Collège Lionel-Groulx
A possible threat has forced the evacuation of Collège Lionel-Groulx, in Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec. The police are still inside the college, in order to secure the premises and staff and the students are still in confinement.
Around 1:35 p.m. a call came in to the central informing of the presence of an individual possibly armed. The police quickly deployed to Lionel-Groulx College and a containment code was launched.
“All people at the College must remain confined inside their premises until an official announcement from the College. The situation is under police control and the research is in progress”, recalls the management of the college on the official Facebook account of the establishment. “This is a preventive measure, a suspicious individual would have been seen outside the College. Avoid the area.”
“As a preventive measure, the police and school staff have proceeded to a confinement of the college. No one can enter/exit the establishment. Thank you for avoiding the sector”, explains the Régie intermunicipale de police Thérèse-De Blainville, in a tweet.
