COVID-19: further increase in hospitalizations in Quebec
The new government report shows an increase of 64 new hospitalizations, for a total of 2,409 people currently hospitalized in the province due to the COVID-19. The number of people admitted to intensive care also recorded an increase of four people.
Health care personnel are still experiencing a high rate of absenteeism, while 9416 health care workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19.
Quebec also deplores 32 new deaths. The human toll from the COVID-19 pandemic has now reached 14,906 deaths in the province.
As for new infections, 1,670 new cases are reported in the province. However, it should be noted that the number of cases listed is not representative of the current situation, since access to screening centers is reserved for priority clienteles.
