Daycare tragedy: the name of one of the two victims revealed
A bus crashed into a daycare center in Laval.
The identity of one of the two children who died in the tragedy at the Sainte-Rose educational daycare center in Laval has been revealed. This is Jacob Gauthier. The child was four years old. The name of the second victim remains unknown.
According to information from TVA Nouvelles, his funeral will take place on Thursday, February 16, at the Sainte-Rose-de-Lima church. It is the priest Michel Bouchard, who had baptized the toddler three years earlier, who will preside over the ceremony.
A friend of Jacob's parents has started a crowdfunding campaign to help the couple financially. At the time of writing these lines, the prize pool exceeded $26,000 out of the targeted $50,000.
A special mass, bringing together several hundred people, was held this Friday, in tribute to all the victims and people affected by the tragedy.
