Difficult recovery at Collège Montmorency

Despite the shooting that shook the educational community at Collège Montmorency in Laval and left four injured last Friday, the students of the establishment will be expected in the classrooms tomorrow morning.

This return to normal after a most unusual event is creating discomfort for many students, parents and teachers still in shock.

As reported by our colleagues from TVA Nouvelles, some of them would like classes not to resume on Monday.

“What we are going to ask the College is to lift classes. We can't imagine teachers and students coming back for exams, for example, at 8 a.m., as if nothing had happened, ”explained Amélie Therrien, teachers' union at Collège Montmorency to VAT News.

Contacted by Metro at the beginning of the afternoon, Collège Montmorency has confirmed that classes will be maintained tomorrow morning.

After gunshots were heard in the park near the Cégep at the end of the day on Friday, the students and staff of the College had remained confined for several hours as a preventive measure within the educational establishment.

Yesterday, authorities said street gang activity was behind the shooting and the suspect was still wanted.
