Eight-year contract for Cole Caufield
Montreal Canadiens forward Cole Caufield
Montreal Canadiens star scorer Cole Caufield is signing with the team for an eight-year term. His annual salary will be $7.85 million.
Caufield had 26 goals and 10 assists in 46 appearances last regular season before having to end it in January with a shoulder injury right requiring an operation.
Before going under the knife, Cole Caufield was 11th in goals in the National Hockey League (NHL). Moreover, at the end of the season, the striker’s 26 goals still allowed him to dominate the scoring charts along with center Nick Suzuki.
Recall that during the match between the Canadian and the Blues of Saint-Louis, on January 7, 2023, Cole Caufield had, at just 22 years old, scored 50 NHL goals in just 117 games.
This feat lifted him to the top of a very selective ranking, which includes the best players in the history of the league. For example, it took legend Guy Lafleur 126 games to score 50 goals, and Mats Naslund 136 games.
Cole Caufield was selected 15th overall in the 2019 Entry Draft.< /p>
