Eurovision final: a Montrealer will represent France
The artist Fatima-Zahra Hafdi, born in Montreal and known on stage as La Zarra, will represent France this Saturday during from the grand finale of Eurovision 2023.
The singer will give voice to the tricolor flag by performing her title Obviously. The competition, which is in its 67th edition, takes place this year in England, in Liverpool. A total of 26 countries are represented.
Recall that Quebec diva Céline Dion won Eurovision in 1988, when she represented Switzerland. Only 20 years old, she had triumphed thanks to her interpretation of the song Ne partez pas sans moi.
Note that the 67th edition of this prestigious musical competition was to take place in Ukraine. Due to the conflict caused by invading Kremlin troops, the event is being held in the UK this year.
