Fifteen suspects arrested in connection with a drug trafficking network

The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM ) on Wednesday morning arrested 15 suspects in connection with an amphetamine production and trafficking ring dismantled in May 2022. The suspects will appear in court this afternoon and face charges of producing, possessing, trafficking narcotics, in addition to certain charges of gangsterism.

The dismantling operation led to a record seizure of amphetamines valued at more than $32.5 million and the seizure of 21 firearms. A 16th suspect is still wanted in relation to this network while three of the suspects were already detained in Sorel and Montreal.

Another drug trafficking network between Montreal and Toronto was dismantled two years ago months, when a 32-year-old man was apprehended in the borough of Saint-Léonard while carrying a hockey bag full of drugs.
