A burning trailer truck disrupted traffic on the Pierre Laporte Bridge on Wednesday morning.
At 8am, a fire broke out in the heavy vehicle and the driver stopped in the shoulder at the exit of the bridge on the Lévis side.
Firefighters from Quebec intervened to fight the fire. The intervention resulted in the closure of the right lane and the southbound center lane, creating an imposing traffic jam.
Motorists crossing the Lévis Bridge in Quebec City could see a column of smoke rise in the sky.
The left and center lanes were reopened as emergency services intervened.
Around 10am, the heavy vehicle was finally towed by the right lane.
