Fireworks back in the sky of Montreal this summer
The 36th edition of L'International des Feux Loto-Québec (IFLQ) will take place from June 25 to August 6, 2022.
After a two-year break, the new edition of L’International des Feux Loto-Québec (IFLQ) will once again be held at La Ronde from June 25 to August 6. The event brings together some of the greatest pyrotechnic artists from around the world and will feature six countries, including Hungary, which is participating for the very first time.
“The applause and the cries of joy of the spectators who contemplate the sky of Montreal evoke the reasons for which this competition has been talking about it all over the world since 1985”, affirms Sophie Emond, president of La Ronde in a press release.
The opening event, which is titled I Remember, will pay homage to the past and will feature songs by Quebec artists. For the very first time, drones will also be there. They will open the evening with a light show, then give way to the deployment of fireworks.
Competition for the Golden Jupiter
Mexico, Hungary, Canada, Italy, Croatia and England will be there.
“The six world-renowned firms will compete as they attempt to dazzle guests of all ages and win the industry’s most prestigious award, the Golden Jupiter,” the statement read.
The program also includes a tribute to the artist Prince, as part of a pyromusical show that will include the audience’s favorite songs.
The event will finally close with a tribute to Genesis that will feature its megahits from the 70s to 90s.
Seeking an amateur jury for the lights of ’ artifice
The IFLQ is also looking for 19 fireworks enthusiasts who will form the 2022 jury. These people will have to attend all the pyrotechnic performances of La Ronde and evaluate the performance of each firm in competition.
Persons who wish to become judges can submit their application online at juryfeuxmtl.com by May 29.
