François Legault launches his podcast

Francois Legault receives Régine Laurent in his podcast.

The Premier of Quebec will dress up as a host for a podcast titled Hello everyone. It will be an opportunity to hear François Legault chatting with various guests.

The first guest of the podcast, which will be released on Wednesday, will be none other than Régine Laurent, who headed the homonymous commission on youth protection.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister excited to “do things differently” with this podcast project. The specific topics on which the discussions will focus have not been disclosed.

The Laurent commission was set up in 2019, following the negligent death of the little girl from Granby, and the report was released two years later. This recommended the creation of a Commissioner for Children's Welfare and Rights, a proposal still awaiting implementation.

Ms. Laurent was also president of the largest nurses' union, the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec (FIQ) between 2009 and 2017. Following this mandate, the National Assembly recognized his career in a motion passed unanimously.

It will not be the first time that Régine Laurent's path crosses that of François Legault, the latter having administered to the Prime Minister his second dose of vaccine against COVID-19, a symbolic action.
