Hannah Gadsby and Kevin Hart at Just for Laughs
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the Just for Laughs (JPR) festival is spoiling itself with an edition entirely in the flesh where the cream of international humor and our local stars. Among the first headliners announced on Tuesday: Kevin Hart, Hannah Gadsby, Mike Ward and Mathieu Dufour.
The first announcements of JPR's programming give pride of place to the Anglophone comedy scene. Just For Laughs will host Hannah Gadsby, Chelsea Handler, Jo Koy, Iliza Schlesinger, Russell Peters, Ronny Chieng, Patton Oswalt and Marc Maron, all of whom will host their own gala.
Hasan Minhaj, Tommy Tiernan, Vir Das and Celeste Barber will also be there.
“We really want to put the rubber on this year and create a whole party. We are fortunate to be at the forefront of the cultural revival of our industry; it’s nothing!” rejoices the vice-president of French content for the Just for Laughs Group, Patrick Rozon.
It's completely crazy to celebrate our 40th anniversary and the return to normality during the same edition of the festival.
Comedy at the Bell Center
On the French side, after several postponements, it will finally be the opportunity to see Mike Ward under listening at the Bell Center on July 22nd. The next day, it will be Mathieu Dufour's turn to take to the huge stage of the amphitheater to present his show Mathieu Dufour at the Bell Centre.
Waiting to discover the others headliners of the festival, remember that JPR will present the musical Annie, directed by Serge Denoncourt, as well as the Roast of the Evening is (still) young, during which various personalities will make fun of co-hosts Jean-Philippe Wauthier, Olivier Niquet and Jean-Sébastien Girard.
