Heavy snowstorm expected in Montreal on Wednesday
As of Wednesday evening, the metropolitan area will be affected by a snowstorm which should leave 15 to 25cm of snow at the end of the month of January. Precipitation is expected to stretch through Thursday morning.
Moderate to strong winds could create blowing snow conditions according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. Montreal, Laval and the South and North shores should be affected.
This is not the only potential storm this week. According to forecasts from Météo Média, a storm with heavy snowfall will make landfall in the United States in New England and will affect more or less, depending on its trajectory, southern Quebec between Thursday and Friday.
For now, meteorological institutes are not forecasting snow accumulations during the first storm in the middle of the week. Moreover, after a mild month of January, temperatures should drop from January 30 to reach the first -20 degrees in early February, with a considerable delay on seasonal norms.
