Here are the 4 best restaurants in Montreal according to Maclean's magazine
Mastard (left) and Elena (right) are both in the ranking of the best restaurants of Maclean's magazine.
Four Montreal restaurants feature in Maclean’s magazine’s list of Canada’s Top Twenty Restaurants. The reviewer behind the article visited about 50 restaurants from coast to coast before making his choice.
The restaurant Mon Lapin, which appeared at the top of the Canada charts’ ;s 100 Best earlier this month, is also praised by Chris Nuttall-Smith, the author of the Maclean’s article. About this restaurant located in Little Italy, which has just celebrated its fifth anniversary, the reviewer writes: “It’s the place I dream of when I dream of going out for a meal.”
The pizzeria Elena P.S., which is located in Saint-Henri, also carves out a place in the list. Its Neapolitan pizzas made with fresh ingredients from local farmers and its service at the counter are what earned it this recognition.
In the borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension , Mastard stands out with its ever-changing five-course menu. For $85, with the possibility of an additional $50 for the wine pairing (four glasses), the restaurant offers one of the most “reasonable” prices on the list, considering the quality and quantity of the services.
Finally, the Damas located in Outremont comes to close the Montreal presence in this Canadian selection. The restaurant is known for its refined Syrian specialties.
