Homicide: the SPVM apprehends a suspect in Halifax
Investigators from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) intervened in Halifax, Nova Scotia, last Friday evening to arrest a man suspected of committing a homicide in a Montreal alley.
The 26-year-old suspect, named Terell Jacobs, was the subject of a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest. While being detained in Halifax, he appeared today by videoconference at the Montreal courthouse. He was charged with murder.
His home was raided in Nova Scotia's capital.
Stabbed to death
< p>On October 29, 2021, the suspect and the victim met in the early evening at Place Henri-Dunant, in the western part of downtown Montreal. They then went to an alley near Hope Avenue with two other people.
It was around 7:50 p.m. that the 24-year-old victim was found on the ground, dying. First responders found that the man had been stabbed in the chest. He succumbed to his injuries shortly after at the Montreal General Hospital.
This was the 27th homicide of 2021.
