Hubert Lenoir dominates ADISQ 2022 nominations

A year after the release of his second solo album, Hubert Lenoir is at the height of his glory. The singer-songwriter is the favorite for the next ADISQ Gala with 11 nominations, including that of male performer of the year, which places him ahead of Lisa LeBlanc, Patrice Michaud, Jean-Michel Blais, Les Louanges and Vincent Vallières, each competing in six categories.

The 44th Gala de l'ADISQ, which rewards talent in the Quebec recording industry, will take place on November 6 and will be hosted again this year by Louis-José Houde. The artists nominated in the different categories were announced on Wednesday afternoon during a press conference. 

At the head of the pack, we find Hubert Lenoir with more than a dozen nominations, both artistic and industrial, for his opus PICTURA DE IPSE: Direct music. Does the artist will give us a memorable moment like the Gala de l'ADISQ in 2018? Nobody forgot how he had “deep throat” his Felix received for Song of the Year, Daughter of Nobody II.

In addition to the Félix for male performer of the year, Hubert Lenoir could win the trophies for the alternative album of the year, the album of the year – choice of the critics, the artist having the most radiance in the international, the author or composer of the year, the international collaboration of the year (with Bonnie Banane) as well as for the video of the year thanks to the clip of Secret >.

In addition, Hubert Lenoir and his team have accumulated four industrial nominations, namely those for best arrangements (Hubert Lenoir and Gabriel Desjardins), best record production, best cover (Noémie D. Leclerc) and best sound recording. and mixing for PICTURA DE IPSE: Direct music.

Six nominations for Lisa LeBlanc

Acadian singer-songwriter Lisa LeBlanc is nominated in six categories, making her the female artist with the most nominations this year.

The adopted Quebecer is in the running for the award for female performer of the year (against Roxane Bruneau, Cœur de pirate, Klô Pelgag and Sarahmée) and that of the author.rice or composer.rice of the year. 

She could also walk away with the Félix for pop album of the year, album of the year – critics' choice as well as record production of the year (Lisa LeBlanc and Benoît Morier). for his album Chiac disco

Finally, his song Why do it’today is among the 10 titles nominated for the Félix for song of the year, notably against the very popular Copilote by FouKi and Jay Scøtt, whose music video has accumulated more than 4 million views on YouTube. 

In addition, Beatrice Deer, Natasha Kanapé, Laura Niquay, Scott-Pien Picard and Samian could win the Félix for Indigenous artist of the year, a prize created in 2019.

Mention special to the group Les Cowboys Fringants, which has accumulated five artistic nominations: album of the year – reinterpretation, album of the year – popular success, artist of the year – international influence, group or duo of the year, and show I' year.

The First ADISQ Gala, hosted by Pierre Lapointe, and the Industry Gala, hosted by Claudine Prévost, will take place on November 2.
