Bennedict Mathurin will participate in his first all-star game on February 19.

Montreal North rising star Bennedict Mathurin has been selected to play in the NBA Rising Stars game on February 19 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Drafted sixth overall in the draft last year, Mathurin ranks second among Indiana Pacers in scoring with an average of 17.9 points per game.

The Montreal player is in the race for the title of rookie of the year or reserve of the year in the NBA , currently atop the league with 843 points as a reserve. Mathurin has been on a good streak lately averaging 24.6 points in his last five games.

Rising stars are chosen from first or second year players in the NBA and will be featured in a three-game tournament.
