Sabrina Lavoie La Tribune SHERBROOKE – As part of a special board of directors held on Wednesday, the directors of the CHUS Foundation unanimously elected Jean-François Bérubé as chairman of the board of directors (CA ) for the next two years.
Jean-François Bérubé's involvement in the CHUS Foundation began several years ago. An active member of several organizing committees, he was also one of the directors of the Fondation du CHUS for three years and sat on the executive board for a few months, explains the Foundation in a press release.
Mr. Bérubé succeeds Sophie Warren, who held this position for five years. “I'm taking over from a woman who has done a lot of work as president,” says Jean-François Bérubé. If I have accepted the challenge, it is because I believe in the cause and also because I have great esteem for all the people who invest themselves in perpetuating the Foundation's heritage ”, adds the new chairman of the board of directors of the Fondation du CHUS.
During Ms. Warren's presidency, the CHUS Foundation claims to have experienced several important moments, including the celebration of its 40th anniversary, the launch of a major fundraising campaign and, most recently, it faced the challenges generated by the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Since my arrival as CEO of the Foundation, I have benefited from the extraordinary involvement of Sophie Warren and her great generosity”, underlines Martin Clermont, CEO of the Foundation.
“His leadership and dedication have positioned the Foundation favorably for the years to come. Thanks to his work, we are ready to take up new challenges in collaboration with Mr. Bérubé ”, he confides.
The Foundation team also took the opportunity to announce the appointment of two new board members, Guillaume Patry and Julie Roy.
