The singer Jérôme Couture, discovered on the show La Voix< /em> 10 years ago, wants to break into the English country music market. To do this, he has just changed his artist name to Jay Kutcher, a new identity that is causing a lot of reaction on social networks.
Many Internet users have found this “translation” funny. of his own name into English. Others found the conversion insulting to French-speaking Quebec audiences, as if they were denying their origins.
Finally, many simply wondered “but who is this singer?” which they had never heard of before.

The singer plans to eventually have a base in the United States. In an interview with QUB, however, he said he was staying in Quebec for now and that he would continue to use French at home.
