Mathieu Dufour put on his famous “dog boots” for his first show at the Bell Centre.

The Just for Laughs Group has signed an agreement with Netflix to broadcast three French-language comedy shows in three years.  

This announcement follows the success of the show Mathieu Dufour at the Bell Centre, shot last July for the 40th anniversary of the popular comedy festival and broadcast by the American streaming giant.  

For the moment, the identity of the comedians who will appear on Netflix has not yet been revealed. 

That said, we should not wait very long before to be able to watch a new Quebec comedy show on Netflix, since the first comedy show under this agreement will be filmed this year.  

The Chief Content Officer of the Just for Laughs Group, Marina di Pancrazio, is optimistic about the dissemination of French-speaking talent internationally. “Within our company, we […] greatly appreciate this opportunity which will allow new audiences in Canada and abroad to take advantage of the rich comedic talent that we have here in Quebec,” enthused. her by press release.  

“Quebec has incredible stand-up voices for the world to discover,” said Tara Woodbury, Netflix Canada's Director of Content.
