Laval: the funeral of former minister Nadine Girault celebrated on Saturday

Former CAQ MP Nadine Girault died at the age of 63.

The funeral of former CAQ minister Nadine Girault, who died of lung cancer last month at the age of 63, will be celebrated this Saturday afternoon in Laval.

< p>Quebec Premier François Legault will attend the funeral. The head of government is expected to speak at a brief press briefing just before the start of the ceremony.

Yesterday, members of the public could already send their sympathies to the family and loved ones of the deceased.

Nadine Girault has served only one term in her political career. She was Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie, as well as of Immigration, Francisation and Integration, during the first mandate of the Legault government.

Last July, she had announced that she would not take part in the October 2022 elections, because of her state of health.

Before entering politics, Nadine Girault had held management positions and served on several boards of directors.
