Macabre discovery in Ville-Marie
The lifeless body of a man in his forties was discovered this morning in the Village in Montreal, inside an apartment located near the intersection of streets Sainte-Catherine and Beaudry.
It could be a suspicious death according to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), which indicates that “all hypotheses are on the table”.
The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene following a call to 911 around 7:50 a.m. Saturday morning, was shot in the upper body.
An investigation has been opened to unravel the circumstances surrounding this macabre discovery. A security perimeter has been erected on rue Saint Catherine. The scene will be screened by investigators and an autopsy will be performed on the remains of the quarantined.
“We are talking about a voluntary act going as far as murder,” explains agent Jean-Pierre Brabant, spokesperson for the SPVM.
