Madonna back to; Montreal this summer

Madonna will be back in Montreal as part of her new world tour, which will stop at the Bell Center on August 19th. Titled Celebration, it includes 35 cities in North America and Europe and promises to showcase the musical repertoire of the last 40 years of the Queen of Pop.

The announcement of this tour has was made on Tuesday through a viral video referring to the documentary Truth or Dare (In bed with Madonna in French version) in which we followed the singer Madonna, on stage and backstage during his 1990 international tour.

In this five-minute video, we can see various celebrities such as Judd Apatow, Jack Black or Amy Schumer challenge the 64-year-old superstar to go on tour and perform the megahits of his four-decade career.

“I'm excited to explore as many songs as possible, hoping to give my fans the concert they've been waiting for,” Madonna said in a statement.

The last time singer Louise Ciccone (Madonna, if you prefer) came to Quebec, it was during the Rebel Heart world tour in September 2015. According to figures from Billboard, the two performances at the Bell Center of Montreal recorded receipts of $4,459,594, for a total of 26,468 spectators.

The tour kicks off July 15 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. In addition to British Columbia and Montreal, the only other Canadian city Madonna will visit will be Toronto on August 13, six days before the show at the Bell Centre.

Recall that Celebration is also the name of Madonna's best of compilation, released in 2009 and featuring the song of the same name.

Tickets will go on sale Friday January 20 at 10am at madonna.com/tour.< /p>
