Murder in the Village: two suspects arrested

Authorities arrested two individuals on Thursday, accused of killing the 60-year-old found dead in a Village apartment last weekend . The latter appeared Friday evening at the Montreal courthouse.

“The suspects apprehended are men aged 53 and 67. They are both due to appear today at the Montreal courthouse to be charged with first degree murder,” the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) said in a press release.

Saturday, June 3, the lifeless body of a 61-year-old man was discovered inside an apartment located near the intersection of Sainte-Catherine and Beaudry streets. The man had been shot in the upper body.

The SPVM had opened an investigation to try to determine the circumstances surrounding this 11th murder of the year in Montreal.
