A new paid training to “become a Quebec baker” /></p>
<p>On this World Bakery Day, Première Moisson and the Institut de tourisme et d'hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ), announce the creation of paid bakery training. </p>
<p>Have you always wanted to become a baker? As of March 2024, the 994-hour theoretical and practical training called “Becoming a Quebec baker” will be available to you.  </p>
<p>In total, 17 people per cohort will have access to around a hundred hours of training that will take place in the ITHQ premises for pastries, and a few hundred hours in the Première Moisson facilities for all the other basic notions. All of this spanning eight months.  </p>
<p>No experience is required to enroll in the course. Only three criteria are required:  </p>
<p>• To be fluent in spoken and written French </p>
<p> • To be at least 16 years old </p>
<p > • Pass a pre-admission interview  </p>
<p>In addition to being paid, the training may be reimbursed once completed, according to certain conditions.  </p>
<p>This initiative was born, among other things, from a desire for expertise to be developed here and to ensure the sustainability of the profession in a context where the labor shortage is intensifying:  </p >
<p>“For several years, across the province, the bakery sector has been facing a labor shortage. In order to help meet needs, keep the profession alive and develop the craft baker's trade in Quebec, we have set up the most comprehensive theoretical and practical training specialized in baking in Quebec, in conjunction with a prestigious partner, the ITHQ, recognized for the excellence of its study programs and the quality of the consulting services offered by its center of expertise”, declared Éric Côté, Vice-President and General Manager of Première Moisson, by via press release.  </p>
<p>The registration period will begin on August 1, 2023 and will run until October 15, 2023.  </p>
