While entrepreneur Olivier Primeau has retired from public life after being the target of several attacks last week, a press conference about its music festivals, Metro Metro and Fuego Fuego, which was to take place tomorrow is canceled.

The press event was to be held at the foot of the Olympic tower on Tuesday morning, in the presence of several artists, members of the organization team of the two festivals, as well as the entrepreneur Olivier Primeau. Given the circumstances, the announcement, which notably concerns improvements in terms of security, will instead be relayed by means of a press release.

Indeed, in less than a week, three buildings belonging to Olivier Primeau have been the target of criminal attacks.

First, shots were fired in the window of Olivier Primeau’s condo in Laval. A few days later, the Slice Gang pizzeria, co-founded by Mr. Primeau and located in Sainte-Thérèse, was vandalized. The next day, the same pizzeria was targeted by an attempted fire. A Montreal suspect has been apprehended.

Last Thursday, the Beach Club owner took to Instagram and said he could no longer rule out being the target of attacks. He added that he would take a step back and be less present on social networks for his safety and that of his loved ones.

The Metro Metro and Fuego Fuego festivals are still scheduled to take place from May 19-21 and May 26-27 respectively on the Olympic Park esplanade.
