Ontario police investigate “overdoses” of cannabis brownies

The Ontario Provincial Police has opened an investigation into possible “overdoses” of cannabis related brownies served at a community luncheon.
The moon fish or mole was found dead at the mouth of the Murray River in southern Australia this weekend.

This type of fish is distinguished by its large size and its particular flat shape. It can weigh up to 2.5 tons according to National Geographic.

The reasons for the stranding of the moonfish are not known. “They often come up against boats and some are so big that they can sink a boat,” said Ralph Foster, head of the South Australian Museum’s fish collection.

The stranded moonfish was actually rather average in size for his species, according to him.

Moonfish “can be much bigger (…) almost double that size,” he told Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

“We know very little about (this species) it’s only recently that technology has allowed us to start having information.” It is classified as “vulnerable” by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

These fish have the particularity of extending a part of their body to the sun which earned him his English name of “sunfish”.

They can also dive to several hundred meters deep.

The images of the stranded fish, posted on Facebook by Linette Grzelak, aroused curiosity. “The number of media around the world who want to talk about it is incredible. I did not expect that, “she told AFP.
