Other road obstacles will limit access to Montreal
The situation in the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel is being closely monitored because habits can change quickly.
Motorists who were planning to take the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel bridge on Thursday evening will have to change their plans. The artery will be completely closed towards Montreal overnight from Thursday to Friday.
Maintenance work is forcing this closure. “Traffic camera marking and maintenance work” will then be carried out, explains the Quebec Ministry of Transport (MTQ).
Only two lanes remain open towards Montreal since the launch of major work. These will be closed from November 24, 9 p.m. until November 25, 5 a.m. Traffic will therefore be prohibited between exit 90 of Highway 20 and rue Sherbrooke Est.
The work could be postponed depending on weather conditions.
