Outputs are comforting in 2020
The arts team has worked on the abundant cultural offerings of winter to give you the taste to face the cold and go out to find comfort. The choice of Geneviève Bouchard, Josianne Desloges, Éric Moreault and Normand Provencher.
1- The hands of Hedwig at the time of the birth
The Lined, from 14 January to 8 February
Written in 1998, this piece is regarded as one of the most beautiful in the vast repertoire of Wajdi Mouawad. Through the story of the young Hedwig (Marianne Marceau-Gauvin), the author of Coast and Fire offers a text based on the defence of our sacred values, and which implies to stand up in the face of adversity. “It is not enough just to have deep convictions, it is necessary to wear, and fight, and this, regardless of the price,” says director Jocelyn Pelletier.

The first Act of 25 February to 14 march
The adaptation of the play “The Flick, “winner of the Pulitzer prize in drama in 2014, played sixty times on the boards, in the United States and in English Canada. 3- The neighbors

The bar is high for the resumption of the work cult of Claude Meunier (co-authored with Louis Saia, 1980). The winner of a Félix award for jazz album of the year and a former participant of The voice, which draws its inspiration from the soul music of the years 40 to 60, in the first rank of Billie Holiday, Etta James and Nina Simone, arrives with a show that revisits a personal Black history through the last part of a trilogy (after Nameless and Stay Tuned!). Promising.
5 – Chilly Gonzales
On 16 January at the Grand Theatre
A year and a half after its passage at the Palais Montcalm, the flamboyant pianist, and composer of canada proposes a new show developed around parts of his cycle of three albums (Solo Piano) and a few “surprises” in the company of Stella Le Page, the cello, and Joe Flory on drums. An artist crazy, this Gonzo, holder of the Guinness world record for the longest concert by a solo artist (27 hours).
6 – The cabarets unexpected
Offering “daring performances and different”, The Chapel of the borough Vanier offers a few interesting names here in the spring. To monitor Ghostly Kisses (6 February), Maude Audet and Elliot Maginot (February 13), Simon Kearney and Jerome 50 (march 19).

Not having obtained the expected finance, Steve Gagnon has chosen to reduce the number of performances in Quebec city for his latest creation. We will have only five opportunities to attend this show on the disobedience inspired by the work of Sylvain Trudel, where the poetry is also raw as belle.
8 – Olivier Martineau

9 – Alex Nevsky

Last spring, Laurence Nerbonne proposed with Fire a second album, on which she has forged a pop-catchy and sometimes rebellious, are resolutely present on the form as the substance, the fruit of the work of an artist who thinks big and who allows herself to dare. 11 – Korn

12 – Émile Bilodeau

In 2016, Émile Bilodeau took the stage by storm with a debut album that has rallied critics and the public. Here, he picks up the front of the stage with the titles of Greatness mature, a second disk on which it navigates between the personal and the collective, offering in the trip a position sovereigntist well established.

13 – Basia Bulat

The toronto singer will defend on the scene of his fifth album, Are You in Love (release, 27 march). If one relies on his folk-tinged pop of the four previous trials, spectators will be entitled to the rapture delivers a warm voice and powerful, as well as its great melodies. 14 – Black Violin

15 – Patrice Michaud and the OSQ

The tour of the singer-songwriter Patrice Michaud to see his songs reinvented by the sixty musicians of the Orchestre symphonique de Québec this winter. 16 – Pierre Lapointe

Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, 13 February to 18 may

And then in 2015, it offers Norge, a fascinating quest for identity, half-documentary, half-fiction, which follows the U.s. installed in Quebec in the footsteps of his ancestors in Norway. With The devisement of the world, the playwright concludes her triptych of migration, recounting his visit to the bedside of his dying father. In the light of the two previous aspects, it should be as fun as touching. Note that it takes up the first once during his stay at the Diamond, and the three parts will be joined on the 22nd February.
