Patrick Lagacé will replace Paul Arcand at the helm of the morning show on 98.5 FM.

Columnist and journalist Patrick Lagacé will replace Paul Arcand as host of the morning show Puisqu’il faut se levre on Montreal radio station 98.5 FM at the end of his contract, in June 2024. Mr. Lagacé will take the microphone during the fall.

Nicknamed the “king of the airwaves”, Paul Arcand, 62, had already announced that he would not renew his contract after its expiry. He has been at 98.5 FM since 2004. Succeeding him, Patrick Lagacé will lead the most listened to radio program in Montreal, recognizing the magnitude of this mandate.

Patrick Lagacé joined the radio station in 2019 where he hosts Quebec Now. He also co-hosts the show Deux hommes en or et Rosalie with Pierre-Yves Lord and Rosalie Bonenfant. By his own admission, Patrick Lagacé specifies that the future is uncertain as to his presence on this set.

As for his position at La Presse, he stipulates that he will continue to write columns, although in fewer numbers. He also claims that he will take a writing leave until January 2025 after taking office.
