Plateau-Mont-Royal: 2 collisions and several injured
Two collisions left several injured last night in the borough of Plateau-Mont-Royal, in Montreal. A first collision between two vehicles occurred around 2:50 a.m., at the corner of Hutchison and Sherbrooke streets west.
Following the latter, one of the cars involved in the accident would have chosen to flee and continue on his way, before hitting a second motorist, this time at the corner of Sherbrooke East and Berri streets.
The police, alerted by the owner of the vehicle hit in the first collision, subsequently managed to arrest the driver of the fleeing car.
This is a 19-year-old female. She will face several charges, says Mariane Allaire Morin, public relations officer with the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
Investigators from the Collision Investigation Module went to the scene and according to their first analyses, alcohol and speed would be at the origin of the two accidents.
The injured were transported to a hospital and their lives are not in danger, according to the SPVM.
