QS MPs will donate their $400 check
All Québec solidaire (QS) MPs will donate their $400 tax credit to organizations in their constituency,” the party's parliamentary leader, Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois, announced today.
“For some, it will be food banks, for others, homeless organizations, for others, perhaps organizations that help families in poverty,” said the parliamentary leader in a press briefing.
We think that’ with an MP salary, you don’t need a check for $400. This $400, it would be much more useful to help the world who are struggling for real. These people are not the 125 deputies of the National Assembly.

The solidarity deputies will thus follow the example from the Liberal MP for Mount-Royal–Outremont, Michelle Setlakwe.
“I received $600. As in the spring, I will donate [the money] to MultiCaf which helps the most vulnerable in my constituency. Is it so complicated to take family income into account?! It is frankly shocking to see the CAQ miss the mark,” she said in a message published last Monday on social networks.
Flagship promise of the Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ) in the campaign campaign, the refundable tax credit of $400 to $600 began to be paid this week to citizens who made less than $100,000 in 2021.
