Rain warning in effect for Montreal

After several days of good weather, the rain is about to return to the city. A heavy rain warning for Montreal has been issued by Environment Canada.

Two episodes of precipitation that can dump up to 50 mm of water are expected, from Saturday evening to Sunday morning and from Sunday evening to Monday morning. It’s mainly during the second episode that heavy rains are expected to fall on the city.

“A system from the United States will affect southern Quebec from today until today. ;see you Monday. It will bring rain which will begin this afternoon and which will persist until Monday with a lull during the day on Sunday,” says Environment Canada.

The federal agency warns of the possible risk of flooding that could result from these bad weather conditions, particularly “in places in the lowlands”.

Faced with the spring flood of water , several sectors of the metropolis have been on the alert since last week and are deploying preventive measures.

Friday, the situation was under control in the West Island, although some waterways are the subject of continuous monitoring.
